CEDARWOOD ATLAS OIL (Organic)

Our organically produced essential Cedarwood Atlas Oil is 100% natural product and is obtained by steam distillation from the strikingingly beautiful wood of the Atlas cedar (Cedrus atlantica).
The Atlas Cedar belongs to the pine family and is known as an ornamental plant in southern countries. This cedar species is native to Morocco and grows wild in the stately, moss-covered forests of the Atlas mountains. However, it has been cultivated for centuries throughout Africa and the Middle East. The impressive, slender tree can grow over 40 metres high and bears bluish-green leaves and cones.
With its warm, woody, earthy and slightly resinous aromas, our Atlas Cedar Oil has a wide range of uses and is indispensable in both aromatherapy and natural perfumery.
Atlas Cedarwood is known for its powerful yet mild strength, hence known as the “gentle giant” in folk medicine.

USE IN AROMATHERAPY

The strong gentleness of the essential Cedarwood Atlas Oil is used in aromatherapy as a balancing element.
In various blends it enables the treatment of pain and inflammation, muscle spasms and unwanted bacterial, fungal or viral infections.
Like the other coniferous oils, Cedrus atlantica essential oil is known to support lung health and promote respiration.
In natural perfumery, it is often used in male perfumes, but it is also very popular in aroma blends for women.
When used externally, the oil has clarifying properties. It can help revitalise dull, blemished skin by promoting healthy microbial balance.
